Providing Everything You Need

Person-centred therapy is a humanistic counselling approach developed by Carl Rogers, based on the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, self-awareness and positive change. Person-centred counselling provides a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

At Pause for Counselling in Aberdeen, I offer person-centred counselling to help with anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma and life transitions. Rather than giving advice or directing the conversation, I work alongside you with empathy, acceptance and understanding, helping you gain deeper insight into yourself and your experiences.

Through the therapeutic relationship, person-centred therapy can support you in developing self-confidence, improving emotional wellbeing, building resilience and making choices that feel authentic to who you are. Sessions are available in Aberdeen and online across the UK.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people recover from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, distressing memories and other emotional difficulties. Through a structured eight-phase approach, EMDR therapy helps the brain process and reframe difficult experiences, reducing emotional distress and improving overall wellbeing. Many people find EMDR effective for overcoming the lasting effects of childhood trauma, abuse, grief, panic attacks, phobias and negative self-beliefs. EMDR therapy is available in Aberdeen and online across the UK, offering a safe and effective path towards healing and recovery.
